Costumes Optional Halloween Party

This year's Sunday School Halloween party was said to be a costume "optional" event. Which in my mind let me off the hook, in my husband's mind, he filtered off the "optional" and wished that I would do the same. The man lives for such events!! When you have multiple TUBS of costume attire, each piece separated into plastic bags for protection and ease of viewing, you know you are dealing with a serious nature! Seeing as how I was going to work the "optional," Ben decided it was his mission to find a costume that would accentuate the lack of my costume!! With much consideration and all together too much thought, Ben went as "Kate" to the party!! Yes, folks he dawned a pseudo-belly, which lead to comments of, "How do you button your pants when you can't see them?!?" He put together a makeshift "rack" which lead to difficulty in buckling his seat belt because he kept running into them, leading to the comment, "How do you live with these things...they are always in the way?!?!" The final touch was his mullet wig fashioned in a similar way to mine (he needed some assistance with this one, but it was fun to watch for a while) complete with longer strands of hair hanging down the sides. This did not become an issue until he was outside roasting hot dogs and the wind was blowing his hair into his face, leading again to more commentary, "How do you girls deal with your hair always blowing in you face...I now know why some girls suck on their hair...because it blows in there and then you might as well leave it there because it keeps it from blowing more in your face!!" He did not just leave it all to the outward appearance, he tried his hardest to completely embody the pregnant woman. He had moments in the night when he felt the need to announce he was feeling nauseous and may need to excuse himself, and other moments when he was asking around for Tums to help with his heartburn!!

In all honesty...it was tremendous!!
