Week 30 - Dave and Bob

The Babe:
Big news for babe's brain this week: It's starting to wrinkle and fold. This is due to the rapid growth of our little genius's brain cells. Other highlights this week:Fingernails and toenails are finally finished. Plus, the bone marrow is completely in charge of red-blood-cell production now. This is a good thing. Baby is starting to shed the lanugo—the downy hair that was covering the skin. Now that the babe is CLEARLY chubbier and better able to regulate body temp, there is no need to sport a fur coat 24/7.
"I spy an umbilical cord and the inside of my mom's uterus!" When our babe is awake, the eyes are now wide open and whittling away the hours looking around, checking out the rather dark, limited environs. Our babe hasn't gained much weight or height this week, as much energy has been channeled to the brain. The babe weighs about 3 pounds and is approximately 17 inches long, about the size of a Yorkie terrier (Mom, not sure that means Dave's size or Bob's size...but...judging by MY size...I am going to run with BOB!!)

The Parents:
As much as I'm enjoying gaining weight like a sumo wrestler and being swollen from head to toe, little has changed in our lives over the course of the week. I have officially given up on wearing socks, unless they are Ben's and I now where only my crocks to school. Which means that black, casual shoes now go with EVERYTHING!! I am painting three canvases for the nursery and one is nearing completion. Ben is BUSY!!
