Picc Line Removal

Last Wednesday was a big day for Mary Alice, we went back up to Hope Hospital to get the picc line OUT!! She was super excited!!

(We know that everyone wants to see those scars...they are healing up GREAT!!)

Ben and I were a little nervous at the potential for bleeding but PTL there was nothing to write home about! We saw Dr. Andrew to have the line taken out. He is Mary Alice's cardiologist that she now follows with. She sees him for all of her follow up visits and he takes all of our calls from home when we don't really know what to do! We think he is top notch and something truly special...even our home nurse has a message saved on her phone from him that she has played for her office to show them how SUPER FABULOUS he is and sounds!! (This is an old picture from the hospital but it is all we have)

After the big event we, of course, had to visit our old stomping ground, aka the PSHU! It was a good day, we got to see many of our favorites!! Here are some of the AMAZING nurses that took fabulous care of MAK during her stay!

(Though she was on vacation, we can't talk about all the fabulous nurses without mentioning/showing you OUR Cindy!! Mary Alice and Cindy spent almost everyday together! We love her!!)

Dr. Shyam came up to see the little lady. We are going to really miss him!! He was a BIG FAVORITE!!! As you can see MAK is pretty comfortable!

We were lucky enough to find Dr. Elzien as well. He was one of the surgeons that spent PLENTY of time with Mary Alice!! Yet another amazing doctor!!

And then I am pretty sure Mary Alice's favorite Dr. Ilbawi showed up!! I tease Mary Alice that she must have a crush on Dr. Ilbawi because that can be the only reason a girl would go to such great lengths to spend so much "quality time" with a man!! They have a special bond!!
